Tuesday night threw up some unexpected results in the Premier League.Despite having romped their way to eight consecutive victories under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United came seconds away from a shock defeat to Burnley. While many fans were worrying about their February fixtures, what seemed a simple challenge at Old Trafford required a dramatic comeback after Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood scored for the visitors. It wasn't until the 86th minute that United got a foothold in the game and Paul Pogba - taking a penalty more briskly than usual - finally got the home side on the scoreboard.Victor Lindelof would eventually rescue a point after lashing home from an Alexis Sanchez rebound but supporters will still be feeling a little disappointed at having dropped two points.

Man Utd draw, Man City lose

However, they weren't the only team on the end of a surprising result as Manchester City were beaten upon their trip to Newcastle United, despite having led after just 24 seconds thanks to Sergio Aguero.

Pep Guardiola's men started to unravel that half-time, though, with Salomon Rondon and Matt Ritchie both scoring to deliver a fantastic 2-1 win.

It dealt a massive blow to City's chances of winning the Premier League and gives Liverpool the opportunity to move seven points clear at the top against Leicester City.

Steward's four words to Man Utd fans

And, naturally, it didn't take long for word to reach United fans with all the final scores being announced at full-time.

Clearly still buzzing after the Burnley comeback, the declaration of the result at St. James Park sparked celebrations amongst certain sections of Old Trafford.

It was something picked up on by Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening and he also saw that one particular steward wasn't happy with the response.

In fact, he quickly turned to the home crowd and asked: "Why are you cheering?" Take a look at this full tweet down below:

It seems plenty of fans agree with the steward's actions.

First of all, although one of the club's rivals had just suffered a disappointing defeat, it also gave their largest adversaries a massive advantage in the title race.

It certainly seems bizarre that United fans would celebrate a result that could potentially gift Liverpool the trophy that they have always been mocked for lacking.

Even if Liverpool were out of the title race, though, it does seem a little weak after a disappointing result at home to Burnley and the Red Devils have their own challenges to address.

Of course, there's no harm in schadenfreude at football grounds but United fans are currently in the unfortunate scenario of seeing Liverpool and City contest top spot.

It seems a lose-lose situation for everyone on the red side of Manchester.
