Leeds have dismissed speculation striker Davide Somma has joined Championship rivals Swansea on loan.

Reports claimed the South Africa international, who has made a big impression this season scoring six goals in 13 league appearances, had joined the Welsh club on a four-month deal. However, Leeds have played down the stories regarding Somma, who recently signed a new three-year deal at Elland Road.

"Leeds United would like to confirm striker Davide Somma has not joined Swansea City," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The story, somewhat strangely, claims Davide has joined the Welsh club on loan. We can confirm the story is totally incorrect.``
