It's been a week of unexpected results in the Premier League.

Tuesday's set of fixtures saw Manchester United recover from 2-0 down at home to Burnley to draw 2-2 and Manchester City lose 2-1 away to Newcastle.

City's shock defeat at St James' Park meant Liverpool had the chance to go seven points clear at the top of the Premier League against Leicester City on Wednesday.

Liverpool, however, were unable to get the job done as Harry Maguire cancelled out Sadio Mane's third-minute opener in a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

Bournemouth's 4-0 victory over Chelsea was the other surprise result of Gameweek 24 as the away side dropped out of the top four.

In the Blues' place now sit Arsenal, who beat Huddersfield 2-0 on Tuesday, while Tottenham scraped a 2-1 win over Watford.

All eyes are now fixed on the title race and Liverpool will be disappointed that they failed to capitalise on City's slip up. They are currently five points clear.

It looked like Jurgen Klopp's men were heading for another routine win when Mane broke the deadlock in the opening stages, but Leicester fought back and equalised through Maguire.

Maguire managed to beat Liverpool's offside trap to meet Ben Chilwell's header back into the box and finish past Alisson.

Try as they might Liverpool were unable to find a winner in the second half, so they'll need to bounce back against West Ham next Monday.

In that time City can close the gap to two points by beating Arsenal on Sunday, and now Kyle Walker has posted - and since deleted - a tweet mocking Liverpool's result.

Following his heroics for England at last summer's World Cup, Maguire has become something of a meme and Walker tweeted that famous picture of him with a pretty funny caption.

"So basically they thought they were gonna go 7 points ahead..." wrote the City right-back, as you can see in the screenshot below.

Classic Walker. The England international's tweet was attracting a lot of attention - both positive and negative - before he deleted it, so it's probably a good job he did.

Liverpool fans won't forget what he said if they end up beating City to the Premier League title, though.
