Arsenal's signing of Denis Suarez has sparked something of a mixed reaction.

In a transfer saga that dragged on throughout the whole month, it wasn't until Deadline Day that the Gunners were able to secure a deal with Barcelona and make the move official.

It's been well publicised that Arsenal had little to no money to spend in January and as a result, Suarez was actually signed as part of a loan deal but with the option to make it permanent.

The north London side fought hard to ensure they weren't obliged to sign Suarez in the summer and the club will asses whether the Spaniard has performed sufficiently under Unai Emery.

A difficult spell at the Nou Camp has slammed the brakes on Suarez's career and he will be hoping to ensure that he's pulling on an Arsenal jersey for the 2019-20 season.

Doubts about Suarez

However, not everybody is convinced by the signing and former Arsenal striker Alan Smith is certainly one of the doubters.

He gave a rather negative prediction, speculating: "How much will he play though? You would imagine he may be a bit of a squad player.

"Unai Emery knows him from Sevilla, he is versatile, while another young lad in Smith Rowe has gone out to Germany to get some game time."

Times Suarez has showed his class

Meanwhile, Martin Keown has warned of the unwanted impact it could have on Granit Xhaka, but is the trepidation really justified?

It's hard to tell with much certainty when you consider Suarez's lack of game-time this season, yet some of his older performances speak for themselves.

Well, one Arsenal fan responded to the news of Suarez's arrival by taking to YouTube and posting a video titled: "11 Times Denis Suárez Showed His Class!"

It definitely sends a message to those a little unsure - check out the full video here:

When Suarez is on form, he's a truly special player.

The 25-year-old showed his quality to the world during a successful spell with Villarreal and those same signs of class also appeared from time to time at Barcelona.

Assuming that Suarez can sufficiently adapt to the pressures of the Premier League, don't be surprised if the Spaniard can rediscover some of his finer showings.

The role of Emery will certainly be important and Arsenal's transfer business has been largely successful since Arsene Wenger's exit, give or take Stephan Lichtsteiner.

Suarez will likely get his first opportunity impress in something of a baptism of fire against Manchester City, followed by games with Huddersfield Town and BATE Borisov.

If he can produce 11 moments like he did in the video, he could have a prosperous future in London.
