The WWE Universe exploded with noise the night after WrestleMania 33 in 2017, as Kurt Angle was announced as the new General Manager of Raw by Vince McMahon.

Angle had just been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame a few nights prior and was given the opportunity to stay on television for the foreseeable future.

At that point, Angle had stated in interviews that he hadn't retired from wrestling after re-joining WWE, and inevitably he was to get back in the ring later that year, although not in the way he probably would have planned.

He teamed up with then-Shield members Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in a TLC match, which was his first in-ring appearance for WWE in 11 years and he went on to have further bouts at Survivor Series and WrestleMania 34.

Whilst obviously not being as fluent between the ropes as he was in his last stint with the company in 2006, there's been something noticeably painful when watching Angle wrestling recently.

He showed no promising signs in his brief Royal Rumble appearance last week and his match with Drew McIntyre on Raw in November where he was brutalised by the Scotsman.

And his latest loss to Baron Corbin this week and subsequent look of despair as he led in the ring following the match probably had fans thinking that Kurt's not got long left as an active wrestler.

With Angle's latest Instagram post though, we may be getting an announcement sooner rather than later.

The Raw address has got all kinds of speculation going between fans as to what Angle is actually going to say or reveal.

Some think it will be a retirement speech, whilst others think it could be the start of a potential WrestleMania storyline amongst other theories.

But if we are into the last few months of Kurt Angle being an active wrestler, then we may as well cherish it because we may never see a WWE superstar as gifted or well-rounded ever again.
