Marcelo Bielsa’s first season in England sure has been interesting. The Argentinian has led Leeds United to first place in the Championship as they look to return to the top flight after more than a decade away. The football has been exciting to watch, with Leeds pressing high and transitioning from defence to attack with ease.Yet Bielsa’s debut campaign will, of course, be remembered for Spygate. The saga, which started when a Leeds spy was spotted at a Derby County training session last month, prompted Bielsa to deliver a lengthy press conference in which he broke down the process he goes through when analysing an opponent.English football hadn’t seen anything like it.That same approach would have been used before Norwich City came to Elland Road for a top-of-the-table clash on Saturday evening.

Bielsa warmed heart before the match

Leeds started the game in first place, three points ahead of Daniel Farke’s Norwich.

But any suggestions that Bielsa may have been nervous ahead of the game were erased with his actions after leaving the Leeds’ coach.

The 63-year-old handed lollipops to the young kids who waited to greet him and the players as they arrived at the stadium.

A Leeds fan, who goes by ‘TanyaSullivan90’ on Twitter, wrote: “Bielsa got off the team bus and handed lollipops to the kids waiting to see him and it's MELTED me!! I love you xxx”.

What a classy gesture from the Leeds coach.

Leeds haven’t had it easy since their relegation from the Premier League in 2004, dropping down to League One in 2007.

But they now look primed to return to the top flight and have a manager in Bielsa who can cement their place in the division.

That said, they didn’t get off to a good start against Norwich.

Mario Vrancic gave the Canaries the lead in the fifth minute with a free-kick.

The score remains 1-0 to Norwich at the time of writing.

Victory for the visitors will leave both sides on 57 points.
