Cristiano Ronaldo’s debut season in Serie A is going tremendously well. The 33-year-old failed to score in his first three competitive fixtures for Juventus but those matches seem like a long time ago now.He scored twice in Juventus’ latest match, a thrilling 3-3 draw against Parma at the Allianz Stadium. It means his tally on the season now sits at 19 goals in all competitions. The Old Lady are certainly getting their money’s worth.Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 37th minute when he finished past Luigi Sepe despite falling over.It was evidence that, even as he approaches the age of 34 - it’s his birthday on February 5 - he remains physically gifted.

Ronaldo showed his athleticism with second goal

And his second goal was proof that he can still reach an impressive height with his leap.

Mario Mandzukic sent over a cross in the 66th minute that Ronaldo attacked. There was only going to be one winner in his battle with Parma’s Simone Iacoponi.

Ronaldo rose, beat Iacoponi to the ball and diverted his header perfectly into the corner of Sepe’s goal.

It really was a fine display of athleticism.

Juventus didn’t have it all their own way, though. Gervinho made it 3-2 shortly after Ronaldo’s second and the former Arsenal made made it 3-3 in the third minute of injury time.

The draw means it’s now 19 wins and three draws from 22 league matches for Max Allegri’s side, who are aiming to win the Italian title for the eighth straight season.

Despite dropping two points, it’s hard to see that not happening. Juventus are nine points ahead of second-placed Napoli.

And their healthy advantage will likely mean Ronaldo is rested for upcoming league matches as Allegri turns his attentions towards the Champions League.

An enthralling tie against Atletico Madrid awaits Juventus in the round-of-16, and they will need Ronaldo to be in the rested and raring to go.
