Memphis Depay's 18 months at Manchester United was a nightmare for everyone involved.United splashed a cool £25m on the Dutchman - who was only 20 years old at the time - in 2015 and he was regarded as one for the future. But in 33 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils, Depay only manage to score twice and failed to record a single assist. For all his flicks and tricks, Depay looked out of his depth in English football and ended up being sold to Lyon in January 2017 for £17m.United cleverly included buy-back and sell-on clauses in Depay's contract in case he ended up turning his career around - which he has done.Depay has hugely impressed in his two years in France and he recently explained how he's eyeing up a move to one of Europe's top clubs in the summer. His comments didn't go down well with Lyon fans, but it's a sign of a player who has finally rediscovered his form and confidence."I want a new transfer to a top-level club this summer," Depay told Dutch magazine Helden, per Sky Sports. "Lyon is a big club, but it's not one of the five best in Europe."I want to go to a club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich."I want to go to a city that suits me and a club that suits me - to a team that really wants to play football. I always talk about Real Madrid, a royal club."Depay's latest standout performance came during Sunday's 2-1 win over Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, who are once again on course to win the title.Goals from Moussa Dembele and Nabil Fekir secured all three points for Lyon, yet it was Depay who really caught the eye on the left wing. The 24-year-old was awesome as he terrorised Dani Alves at right-back throughout the game, using his pace, skill and dribbling to create chances. Check out his highlights below.

Depay's display inevitably caught the attention of United fans, who now believe the time has come for the Netherlands international to return.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in attendance at the Groupama Stadium ahead of United's last 16 clash with PSG in the Champions League, so there's a chance he was thinking the same.

Here's a selection of tweets from United fans asking for Depay to come back.
