Romelu Lukaku hasn't been spoilt for opportunities under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Since the managerial switch at Manchester United, the fluid front three of Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford has been preferred.

And as long as the Red Devils continue to extend their unbeaten run, it looks unlikely that Solskjaer will switch up his winning formula. The attacking triumvirate have 11 goals in 10 games.

Consequently, Lukaku has been limited to just three starts since Jose Mourinho was sacked, only completing a single 90 minutes during the win over Reading.

In truth, the Belgian has been suffering from 'second-season-syndrome' but his more recent performances have definitely been in line with the overall improvements at the club.

Limited game-time for Lukaku

He scored during the aforementioned FA Cup tie, popped up with a goal at Newcastle United and provided two assists on his way to the Man of the Match award against Arsenal.

However, those displays weren't good enough to earn Lukaku a start at Leicester City, with United eventually running away 1-0 victors thanks to a Rashford strike.

Lukaku watched on from the bench until the 78th minute and not everybody was impressed with his cameo at the King Power Stadium.

Was Lukaku lazy vs Leicester?

Accusations of laziness were thrown about Twitter, especially after a clip emerged of Ashley Young getting frustrated with the striker's movement in stoppage time.

It was certainly a worrying video but one that has prompted a United fan to compile a thread on Reddit, hoping to refute claims that Lukaku was 'lazy' during the match.

Having already received over 1,000 'up-votes,' it's certainly been popular with fans and you can check out the narrative of their post - with the original captions -  down below:

78m 15s - Chased ball down so didnt go for a goal kick

78m 57s - Lukaku closing down several times

80m 56s - Lukaku comes back to close down Maguire in our half

82m 39s - Lukaku pointing looking to get a pass out wide to run to

85m 57s - Lukaku again running into wide space asking to get the ball

87m 45s - Lukaku again offering the run down the side. Plus bonus shot of his cut back into the box, with absolutely nobody looking to run forward

91m 57s - Lukaku again moving off to side of the defender offering a run for Pogba

Evidence shows Lukaku's work ethic

The original Reddit thread can be seen here.

Very interesting indeed, especially when you consider all this evidence transpired over the space of less than 15 minutes. Lukaku certainly put in a shift.

The fan in question didn't neglect the moment involving Young either and provided an explanation for the incident.

They penned: "And the moment everyone was mad at, because Lukaku for the time in the match didn't run down the side.

That is, didn't attempt to run past 4 defenders in the 90th minute when 1-0 up away from home and instead decided to present the easy pass option.

"Bonus points if you spot that not only did Young hold onto it too long and pass it at the worst time, he also did it after Lukaku told him not to and pointed back."
