The WWE Universe were stunned two weeks ago when it was officially revealed that Dean Ambrose would be leaving the company in April upon the expiration of his contract.

It will bring a six-year main roster stint to an end for the former Shield member, who became a household name and popular figure amongst the fans.

One-time WWE Champion, Money In The Bank winner, multi-time Intercontinental Championship holder, Tag Team titles, United States Championship - Ambrose has won it all during his tenure.

The direction that Ambrose is going in towards what could be his final WrestleMania though is quite frankly very open at this point.

A showdown with Triple H was teased the night after the Royal Rumble after he made some comments to The Game that saw them go face-to-face.

But then this past week on Raw he had another face-off with Nia Jax, who had attacked him last Monday, before losing to newcomer EC3.

Perhaps Ambrose won't have a match at all on the card as punishment for choosing to not renew his contract - Vince McMahon can be petty like that.

Ambrose seemingly had some free time in his recent schedule as he joined fellow Raw superstars Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins on The Major Wrestling Figure podcast to talk about wrestling figures, but the Lunatic Fringe made some choice comments towards the end of the episode.

Ryder and Hawkins stated how they are all living a childhood dream as wrestlers instead of so-called 'real jobs', which prompted an interesting response from Ambrose.

"You guys are like me, there are a lot of people here that are just here for the money," Ambrose said, per WrestlingInc.

"They didn't grow up watching it, they don't care for what they do, they have no artistic care for what we do.

"But you guys are like me, this is all we've ever loved, this is our thing."

Without trying to read too much into the comments, it really does seem like Ambrose is firing off a few parting shots at some unnamed superstars before he departs.

It would be unwise to speculate who Ambrose is talking about, but it leaves an interesting open discussion amongst fans.
