Because Liverpool have such a strong starting line-up at present, it’s made it particularly difficult for the club’s talented youngsters to force their way into the first team.Harry Wilson is one of several Liverpool starlets currently plying his trade away from Anfield on loan. The 21-year-old, who has already made eight appearances for the Wales national team, has made quite the impact at Pride Park.Wilson, who previously spent time out on loan at Crewe Alexandra and Hull City, is currently Derby’s leading goalscorer with 10 goals in 23 Championship appearances. He has a further two goals in cup competitions. One of those goals, scored against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup back earlier in the season, earned him Derby’s Goal of the Month award for September.

Wilson then won the same award for October for his goal against West Brom.

He also sealed November’s award for this beauty against Stoke City.

The Liverpool loanee then made it four consecutive Goal of the Month awards with this banger against Swansea City.

And, remarkably, he’s also picked up Derby’s Goal of the Month award for January - making it five in a row - for his strike against Middlesbrough.

Five Goal of the Month awards in a row! That has to be some sort of record, surely?

It seems Wilson is only capable of scoring worldies.

His left foot would probably be described by pundits as a ‘magic wand’.

“I’m really happy about what Harry is doing,” Jurgen Klopp said of Wilson, per Liverpool’s official website, in December. “It’s fantastic. It’s a perfect example for it sometimes being really good to leave home to show up somewhere else.

“I really think Harry left in the right moment. Since I was in everybody told me Harry Wilson needed to go on loan. He scored a lot of goals for the U23s already.

“He went last year to Hull, he was already good. He came back, pre-season was pre-season, and he went to Derby and now he is with Frank [Lampard].”

Liverpool fans will surely be hoping they’ll get the chance to see Wilson in a red shirt next season.
