UFC 234 certainly confirmed to many UFC fans what they had known for some time, the clock is ticking on the MMA career on Anderson Silva, but he's still able to put on an incredible show inside the Octagon. The Brazilian was unfortunately defeated by Israel Adesanya in the co-main event of the show, but both fighters took the battle inside the cage right until the very end and provided an entertaining scrap. The Last Stylebender ended up picking up the win via decision after three rounds, but The Spider did catch the attention of one Conor McGregor, who laid out a respectful challenge for the 43-year-old.In a tweet, Notorious praised the performance of the Brazilian inside the Octagon on Saturday night in Melbourne, putting forth a respectful challenge. He said: "Anderson is one crafty, crafty Martial Artist. You only develop these methods through years of hard-fought experience. Phenomenal performance. The crafty veteran. Big respect always. It would be an honor!"

Diaz trilogy in Brazil

The Spider did say that if his next fight is against Nick Diaz, he would like it to take place on the  UFC 237 card in Curitiba, Brazil, which takes place on May 11.

If Silva wants to fight Nick Diaz here, the Irishman provided UFC fans with an alternative for them to salivate over too, just so that he could be on the same card as the MMA legend.

In response to UFC quoting the Brazilian saying he wants to fight Nick, McGregor said: "Book it. I’ll fight Nate on it."

The completion of the iconic McGregor vs Nate trilogy rivalry, plus a clash between Silva and Nick, would be an awesome fight card to witness.

The booking of UFC 237 would aline well with Notorious' current suspension for his actions in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl last year.

The Irishman is currently serving a six-month suspension for his participation in a brawl that took place after his fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. That suspension is set to expire in April.

His suspension, therefore, would complete just in time for him to fight in Brazil in May alongside one of MMA's all-time greats, as well as complete one of the most highly anticipated trilogies in UFC history.
