The fall of Monaco in the 2018/19 season has been quite astounding.Back in 2016/17, the principality club were taking the French top-flight by storm, winning the title and then making the semi-final of the Champions League.Last season, after selling a number of their top players, they were still pretty decent in Ligue 1, finishing second behind Paris Saint-Germain.But this year it has been nothing but disastrous for Monaco, with relegation still a distinct possibility.Leonardo Jardim was sacked after a dreadful start to the campaign and replaced by Thierry Henry. However, the Arsenal legend's stint as manager was truly woeful and he was duly given his marching orders and replaced by Jardim - a weird one, we know. The Portuguese boss did earn a priceless 2-1 victory over Toulouse last weekend and was inches away from repeating that scoreline away at Montpellier today.Gelson Martins and Radamel Falcao scored either side of a strike from Gaetan Laborde. But Jardim and his side would have to settle for a point after Kamel Glik gave away a penalty in the final few minutes with a reckless high foot.Andy Delort would convert the penalty, but his attempt brought about one of the unluckiest save attempts you will ever see from Croatian stalwart Danijel Subasic. You can watch the footage below.

Subasic gets a firm hand on Delort's powerful attempt, but the ball somehow squirms under him and just creeps over the line.

Had there not been goal-line technology, there would have perhaps been even more controversy.

The draw means Monaco will still be in the relegation zone come the end of the game week, but they do seem to be improving back under Jardim's guidance.

With Cesc Fabregas, Adrien Silva and Naldo brought in to strengthen the ranks in January, Monaco stand a good a chance of escaping the dreaded drop.
