Both Manchester City and Chelsea went into their clash on Sunday afternoon needing three points.City had dropped to second below Liverpool after the Reds had beaten Bournemouth 3-0 on Saturday.Meanwhile, Chelsea were leapfrogged by Manchester United as the Blues fell to fifth.But who would come out on top?Well, we didn’t have to wait long to find out the answer.Raheem Sterling gave the home side a fourth-minute lead and the Citizens didn’t look back.A brace from Sergio Aguero gave City a 3-0 lead after just 20 minutes and Ilkay Gundogan soon made it 4-0.It was a rout and it was tough to watch for Chelsea fans.Just ask Chelsea’s Twitter admin.As City kept scoring, Chelsea’s official account appeared to give up hope during the first-half.They stopped informing followers who had scored the City goal and just resorted to tweeting the scoreline.In the space of 25 minutes, they went from this:

It was something that football fans spotted and they thoroughly enjoyed it.

Things got even worse for Chelsea as Aguero completed his hat-trick after the break from the penalty spot.

Then, with 10 minutes remaining, Sterling made it 6-0.

Don’t worry, Chelsea fans. You’ve played City twice in the league now so you won’t have to face them again.

Oh wait, how about the Carabao Cup final in two weeks time…

It would take an incredible turnaround for Maurizio Sarri’s side to pick themselves up and beat City at Wembley to claim the first domestic trophy of the season.
