Mercedes have today released their new car for the 2019 Formula 1 season, five days ahead of when pre-season testing begins in Barcelona at the Circuit de Catalunya.

The W10 will be driven by Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas in the upcoming campaign, with Mercedes looking to build upon the five straight championship victories they have enjoyed.

Mercedes’ success has been largely centred around Hamilton, ever since he ended a six-year wait for his second championship with victory in 2014.

The British driving sensation has gone on to win three more championships since, with former Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg also contributing a championship for the Brackley-based team along the way.

Mercedes’ dominance within F1 seems to only be getting stronger, with the 88-point margin that separated Hamilton and his closest competitor last season Sebastian Vettel being the biggest during this recent period of success.

Mercedes will boast an unchanged line-up for the 2019 campaign, one of only two teams to do so.

Bottas will be hoping he can move on after a disappointing second season behind the wheel, where he finished fifth in the championship standings.

The Finn will look to recapture the form of his first season driving for Mercedes, where he managed a third-placed finish, sharing as many podiums across the campaign as both drivers ahead of him, Hamilton and Vettel.

So here it is, Mercedes' new car for the 2019 season!

And it's safe to say the fans are not at all happy!

Both Hamilton and Bottas will now be looking forward to driving the W10, which Mercedes had teased a week before its official release.

A picture on the Mercedes-AMG F1’s Twitter page was posted which appeared to show the wing of the new model, accompanied by the caption: ‘Silver is so last season’, suggesting a change in colour.

Mercedes will be hoping that a combination of the W10 and Hamilton and Bottas will continue to bring them success, as they go on the hunt for their sixth consecutive championship double.
