In the absence of Neymar and Edinson Cavani, Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel needed all of his players to step up and be counted against Manchester United on Tuesday night. They did just that. Too good.

At least United fans who paid good money for tickets got to see some form of entertainment. It’s just a shame it came from the opposition.

It’s hard to see United turning things around from this position.

They must beat PSG at the Parc des Princes on March 6 by at least a two-goal margin in order to progress. A 2-0 victory in Paris would send the tie to extra-time.

But PSG are a formidable force at home and will be more than confident of finishing the job after outclassing United at Old Trafford.

If Mbappe and Di Maria can produce this level of performance throughout the remainder of this season’s Champions League campaign, PSG will take some stopping.
