Kylian Mbappe was at the peak of his powers during Paris Saint-Germain's win over Manchester United this week.

There were real concerns about the French champions going into their trip to Old Trafford with both Edinson Cavani and Neymar ruled out of the first leg with injuries.

As a result, all the pressure was on the 20-year-old Mbappe, flanked by Angel di Maria and Julian Draxler during the crucial Champions League tie.

Yet, by the end of the game, you would be mistaken for thinking that PSG never picked up those injuries and the visitors eventually left with an impressive 2-0 victory.

The breakthrough came in the 53rd minute when United failed to defend a corner, allowing Presnel Kimpembe to appear at the back post and volley past David de Gea.

However, the crowning moment came just a few minutes later when Mbappe wrote his name on the scoresheet, arriving into the box and providing the deftest of touches to score.

It certainly wasn't the most impressive of goals, but it was the blistering run he made into the penalty area that sparked reaction across social media.

The Frenchman's remarkable acceleration allowed him to beat the United defence to the ball and ensure that Di Maria could deliver the cross as soon as possible.

Mbappe's fastest sprints

It was the latest reminder that Mbappe is one of the fastest footballers in the world, a fact reiterated by FIFA 19's decision to give him the joint highest pace rating of 96.

And although Mbappe remains an incredibly young player, he has already produced a number of remarkable sprints throughout his career and you only need to check YouTube to find out.

All that considered, few come better and more up to date than a compilation from 'SBFootball,' showing some of the PSG forward's fastest bursts of pace. Check out the video down below:

Pace to burn.

Although Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would have something to say about it, surely Mbappe is the fastest football in the world right now?

He is showing time and time again that simply nobody can match him stride for stride, across a number of distances and both with the ball and without it.

Perhaps the most famous example came during France 4-3 Argentina at the World Cup but a number of incredible bursts have slipped under the radar in Paris.

You only need to look at the instance from Old Trafford that could easily have been missed if Mbappe didn't finish off the subsequent opportunity.

Even when you aren't looking, Mbappe is travelling faster than most footballers to player the game. But then again, if you blink, you'll probably miss him.
