There is the sense that Ferrari are entering a new age.Mattia Binotto will assume his role as team chief for the first time in the upcoming campaign, whilst a new driver will take his place behind the wheel for the legendary Italian racing team, something that hasn’t happened since 2014, in the form of Charles Leclerc.That’s not all that is new, though, with Ferrari today revealing their new car in Maranello, Italy, which will be used in the upcoming 2019 Formula 1 season.The Scuderia Ferrari official Twitter page had teased the release of the new design, stating: ‘You know the date. Our 2019 challenger is just a week away #ForzaFerrari’, alongside an outlined image of the car.The new model was unveiled just in time for testing, which starts with Test One on Monday in Barcelona.Test Two will then conclude on March 1, just over two weeks before the 2019 campaign kickstarts with the Australian Grand Prix.Sebastian Vettel will once again be lining up for Ferrari in Australia, but his teammate will no longer be Kimi Raikkonen.The Finn was the last person to secure the championship for Ferrari, way back in 2007, but in an attempt to end the 11-year title drought, youngster Leclerc has been brought in.Well you have waited long enough, so here it is - Ferrari's car for the 2019 season!Leclerc will become the second youngest driver to race for Scuderia Ferrari, at the age of 21, whilst also becoming the first Ferrari Driver Academy Graduate to race for the team.He impressed fans across the globe with his performances in his debut campaign in 2018 whilst racing for Sauber, even outperforming his teammate Marcus Ericsson.

That was enough to convince Ferrari to take him onboard and now both Vettel and Leclerc will be looking to bridge the gap between themselves and Mercedes.

Mercedes have won the last five championships and Ferrari will be hoping that this new design, along with their other changes, will be enough to end Mercedes’ dominance.
