Anthony Joshua is all set to defend his WBA [Super], IBF, IBO and WBO titles this summer, as he takes on American star Jarrell Miller on June 1 in New York.

Joshua will be travelling to the United States for the first time in his career and it is believed the boxer will be earning a career-high purse of £25m after agreeing terms.

The past year has represented another successful chapter in AJ’s quest to be the undisputed champion of the world, aiming to unify the belts, with only WBC title remaining to realise that dream, which currently is held by Deontay Wilder.

In 2018, after the hard-fought victory over Joseph Parker in March, Joshua faced power-puncher Alexander Povetkin in September.

He managed to retain his belts courtesy of a seventh-round knockout, which floored the Russian ace at the iconic Wembley Stadium.

Joshua, now, has released an engaging behind-the-scenes video, giving further insights in the build-up to the fight against Povetkin.

Titled ‘The Life Is Chose And I Live For It’, the 15-minute video was posted on his YouTube channel, where it is shown the challenges Joshua went through at that period of time.

The footage reveals the Brit's struggles fighting flu, playing football and hitting the pads with trainer Robert McCracken as well as relaxing with his entourage.

The 29-year-old said: “This has been a 10-year project. It's still not the finished article, because where we're trying to go is the unknown and see how far we can take it. We're trying to conquer new territory now.

“I had my pre-fight nap and normally I wake up feeling 10 (out of) 10. This time I woke up feeling seven (out of) 10' added Joshua, who was fighting the flu in the build-up to the Povetkin bout.

“I tried to sleep on my way to the arena, and I had this different aura about me this training week where I just felt like I needed to be left alone, because I was in my own thoughts.”

Former five-weight world champion Sugar Ray Leonard interviewed the champion in the Wembley dressing room ahead of the bout and during that phase the anxiety was evident.

Around 12:25 into the video, Joshua revealed the surprising emotions and thoughts that had been circling around his mind moments before taking the ring and how he regathered himself to register the 22nd win of his pro career.

“All I thought to myself was ‘What happens if I lose?’ he added.

“The worst feeling. I'm ill, my back, my hip, my elbow. I was thinking ‘What are these signs?’ and ‘Should I have taken this fight?’

“If I can get through this fight and beat someone at my worst, it shows I've got what it takes to be on top.”
