Paul Pogba is really enjoying life under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The French midfielder struggled for form with Jose Mourinho at the helm.

But, since Solskjaer replaced Mourinho in December, he has emerged into one of the best players in world football.

Pogba turned in another sensational performance for Manchester United on Monday night as they defeated Chelsea in their FA Cup fifth round tie at Stamford Bridge.

The Frenchman played a huge role in his side's opening goal.

It was his stunning cross that was headed home by Ander Herrera in the 31st minute.

Pogba then got himself on the scoresheet when he headed past Kepa Arrizabalaga.

He was eventually given the Man of the Match award for his display.

That means that Pogba has now scored eight times and recorded seven assists in Solskjaer's 12 games in charge.

Not a bad return at all for a central midfielder.

Many eyebrows were raised when the club decided to break the world record transfer fee and pay £89 million for his services in 2016.

However, that decision is looking more of a bargain by the day.

Two years and a day ago today, Jose Mourinho actually addressed criticism over Pogba's price tag.

And his comments look extremely accurate now.

He said: “I am pretty sure next summer some players with only half his quality will cost the same money,” he said, per the Guardian.

“I am waiting for that moment to release him from the scrutiny that goes with his price. Right now when he plays well, which he does many times, people think it is normal and when he does not perform quite so well pundits and even supporters go strong on him.

“I am really happy with what he has been doing for us. He gives us an incredible balance and he is still very young. He starts build-ups from the back, he recovers the ball and at the top of the pitch he is a guy that can score goals.

"He can be fantastic and I think in a couple of years you will realise he was cheap.”

After his form in the past few months, it's fair to say that he was worth every penny.

Pogba described Man United's victory over Chelsea as a 'beautiful win'.

"We are Man Utd. We play to win trophies," stated Pogba, per the Independent. "He (Solskjaer) took this job because he can do it. He trusts us and we trust him.

"It is a beautiful win. Today was a great performance from the team, all of them. It wasn't easy. We did it. We are really pleased with that win.

"The team helped me get to my best. I give everything for them. They help me score goals and get assists. We are enjoying playing together."
