Chelsea's season is unraveling at an alarming rate and manager Maurizio Sarri is in serious danger of losing his job.

A 2-0 loss at home to Manchester United in the FA Cup on Monday night furthered that suggestion and it appears that the Italian tactician has now lost the support of fans too.

A selection of the home supporters inside Stamford Bridge were heard chanting 'f*** Sarri-ball' and some even joined in with shouts of 'you're getting sacked in the morning' sung by the away fans.

Brutal. To say it was not a good night for the London club is an understatement.

Chelsea have just started the most important week of their season, which sees them face Malmo on Thursday before Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final and Spurs next Wednesday.

Ideally, they would have liked a win against United to build confidence going into these fixtures but it wasn't to be - and Sarri now appears to be under serious scrutiny from fans as well as the club.

DRESSING ROOM TURN?

But something even more damaging may have come out of last night's defeat as reports suggest that the Chelsea dressing room has finally turned on their struggling boss.

According to the Daily Mail, Blues players were left 'exasperated' by Sarri's second half tactics and specifically, his choice of substitutions.

The Italian coach made two like-for-like subs, bringing on Ross Barkley for Mateo Kovacic and Willian for Pedro.

What's even worse, is that he decided to replace right-back Cesar Azpilicueta with Davide Zappacosta late on.

The Mail reports that the final change 'caused surprise amongst players' and infuriated fans, especially considering Callum Hudson-Odoi and Olivier Giroud were left on the bench.

LOSING SUPPORT

The refusal to make game-changing subs, as well as Sarri's dedication to his own style of play, is now emerging as a 'key issue' amongst some 'infuriated' players, according to the damning report.

Although Chelsea showed a lot of dedication and fight in their defeat to Man United, things don't look good for Sarri and it may now only be a matter of time before he's shown the door.
