Liverpool players will have mixed feelings about their 0-0 draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday night. While they did superbly well to keep a clean sheet and now head into the second leg with a good chance of progressing, they wasted several chances to score.Sadio Mane should have broken the deadlock in the 32nd minute when the ball rebounded to him on the penalty spot inside Bayern's box.But the Senegalese, who is usually so deadly from close range, swivelled and skewed his shot past the post.Jurgen Klopp summed up the general feeling around Anfield after the game by saying: "It's not the result or the game we dreamed of."Not a lot happened in the game but it was an intense one. There was a lot of respect involved and that made life more uncomfortable."But in the first half we still had the chances - if Sadio had hit the ball better, for example. A goal would have changed the game.

"We created chances in the first half, but in second half nobody created anything."

Liverpool's front three will need to be much more clinical when they travel to the Allianz Arena in three weeks' time to stand any chance of reaching the quarter-finals.

Mane in particular must up his game, because he not only spurned a handful of goalscoring opportunities, but he missed the chance to put Divock Origi through on goal late on.

In the third minute of stoppage time, Mane received the ball, drove at Bayern's defence and could have passed to Origi, who had broken the offside trap.

But Mane took one too many touches and ended up giving the ball away. Had he passed, Liverpool would have had a two-on-one situation involving Origi, Mohamed Salah and David Alaba.

So poor. The reaction from Liverpool fans said it all as they angrily groaned at Mane for squandering yet another golden chance. Here's how they reacted on Twitter.
