World heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and Jarrell Miller met in New York on Tuesday at their first public press conference together, as they promoted their fight scheduled for June 1 at Madison Square Garden.

Almost as soon as AJ got on stage, and the boxers stood together for photos, Miller pushed the heavyweight champion because he apparently smiled during the face-off.

The push almost started a brawl as security guards and team members from both sides tried to separate the fighters.

'Big Baby' Miller has since said he has little respect for AJ after he smiled at him, as Miller hurled insults at his rival boxer.

Joshua stayed relatively calm during the whole situation, despite jumping off stage to try and confront a heckler, before being blocked by security.

The American eventually stormed off stage and later revealed why the Brit had annoyed him, and what exactly led to the push, when speaking to iFL TV.

"He was smiling. There ain’t nothing to f***ing smile about. I don’t know what he think was going to happen.

"I remember the first time at the press conference he wanted to have a conversation with me, sit down and talk. I ain’t got nothing to f***ing talk about. I got nothing to talk about.

"You want to talk to me, come punch me in my face. That’s how we talk. I respect war."

And when it comes to the bout, Miller sounds confident, as he said: "I ain’t got nothing to talk about. You got something I want, and I want it, I’m gonna take it. So we ain’t got nothing to talk about until we get in that ring."

And it's no wonder he's confident considering his near perfect professional boxing record with 24 wins out of 25 fights, and one draw, despite fellow heavyweight fighter Tyson Fury recently claiming he knocked Miller down seven times during a sparring session back in 2011.

And it seems as though this has given the reigning heavyweight champ Joshua a load of confidence, twinned with AJ's trademark cool demeanor and the fact Miller wasn't his first choice.

The Watford-born fighter revealed he tried to fight Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder, but they decided on a rematch with each other instead, and so AJ feels he won't have much trouble getting one over his 30-year-old opponent.

"I could hype him up but I will keep it real. Miller can’t punch, he hasn’t got that much of a good work-rate, I’ll throw more output punches.

"He’s been knocked out seven times, he’s the softest puncher in the heavyweight division."

The 29-year-old went on to say: "He’s done nothing as a fighter in the amateur ranks or as a professional. And he will come up against a real champion. There is no fairytale story – the facts and stats show I will beat Miller and knock him out. That’s the truth in plain sight."

We will see if AJ's confidence will be rewarded when the two meet in the summer.
