England have confirmed they will play Denmark at the Parken Stadium on February 9.
It had been anticipated that Fabio Capello's side would tackle Argentina in Copenhagen on that day but the Danish federation raised objections and the South Americans were unable to fulfil the fixture 24 hours earlier, as had been suggested.
Uruguay and Paraguay were both mentioned as possible alternatives but complications quickly became apparent, not least in the fact some senior players would have ended up playing twice in three days once Chelsea's Premier League encounter with Liverpool was shifted to February 6 for live TV coverage.
When Denmark's planned friendly fell through, it seemed an obvious move to arrange a clash with Morten Olsen's men, who bowed out of the World Cup at the group stage, which has now been confirmed.
Capello was anxious to play away from Wembley prior to the March 26 Euro 2012 qualifier with Wales at the Millennium Stadium and the retractable roof at the Parken Stadium will offer ideal climatic conditions at this time of year.
It will be England's first meeting with Denmark since the 4-1 loss five years ago and will be broadcast live on ITV1.
