The pressure is on Maurizio Sarri right now.Chelsea have lost their way under the Italian and, following three defeats out of four in the Premier League, there are reports that his job is on the line. His case wasn’t helped by the Blues’ exit at the hands of Manchester United in the FA Cup on Monday. The Carabao Cup final on Sunday presents an opportunity for Sarri to silence the critics, although Manchester City promise to make victory an extremely difficult task.Yet the one trophy that he is really wants is the Europa League, especially if Chelsea fail to finish in the top four. They led Malmo 2-1 following last week’s first leg and Sarri rung the changes for the return meeting at Stamford Bridge.Willy Caballero was named in goal, Emerson was at left-back and Callum Hudson-Odoi was given a chance to show what he’s all about as well.

Sarri wasn't happy with Chelsea's start

But Chelsea made a nervous start to proceedings, making life much more difficult for themselves than many people thought it would be.

They were sloppy in the opening 20 minutes of the match, with Malmo twice threatening Caballero’s goal.

The performance only increased the nerves among Chelsea’s fans and Sarri showed that he’s also feeling the pressure on the touchline.

Evening Standard journalist Vaishali Bhardwaj, in attendance, reported that Sarri was ‘screaming at himself’ following an opening few minutes in which both Mateo Kovacic and Cesar Azpilicueta lost possession.

“Ten minutes gone and, far from dominating their opponents, Chelsea have already allowed Malmo to twice threaten the goal while Kovacic and Azpilicueta have given the ball away,” Bhardwaj wrote.

“Sarri is screaming at himself on the touchline.... clearly, he's feeling the pressure.”

Imagine being a player and seeing your manager acting that way.

Freelance journalist Dan Levene sent a series of tweets that highlighted Chelsea's early struggles.

The former Napoli boss knows the only way out for Chelsea at the minute is wins.

“We need to win three, four matches in a row. It's the only solution," he said this week, per BBC Sport.

"I can understand very well the frustration of our fans because they are used to winning. Now we are in trouble, so I can understand very well.

"There isn't another way. We can only have good performances and results."

The challenge doesn’t get any easier, though.

After facing City at Wembley Stadium, they host Tottenham Hotspur in the league.
