Tottenham's Premier League challenge could well be over for another season.

Spurs travelled to Burnley in great form, and were further buoyed by Harry Kane's return to action.

But they were defeated 2-1 by an inspired Burnley side.

Sean Dyche's men took the lead through Chris Wood after 57 minutes.

Kane restored parity, latching on to a quick throw and finishing past Tom Heaton.

But Ashley Barnes scored the winner with seven minutes remaining to secure a shock win.

Mauricio Pochettino was fuming after the result and he made his feelings known after the game.

The Argentine manager is known for being cool, calm and collected, but he lost his head at referee Mike Dean after the game.

It's rare for Pochettino to act like that.

Pochettino eventually walked away, but it was reported by Sky Sports presenter David Jones, that his anger continued down the tunnel.

Football fans now think a ban should come his way.

Pochettino reflected on the incident after the game.

"It’s weird, maybe the cables crossed in my brain," he said, per football.london.

"It’s the first time in ten years. I was always under control but what happened there, happened on the pitch. I need to find the reason now that we lost the game, not to find some excuse."

He then went on to admit he made a mistake and apologised for his actions.

Pochettino confronted Mike Dean after the game

"I made a mistake. I should have gone to the dressing room and get some water," he said, per BBC's Simon Stone.

"A stupid thing happened and you react. Maybe I go and apologise to the referee."

Spurs remain five points behind Liverpool, and the Reds could extend their lead over the north London club when they take on Manchester United on Sunday.
