It's rare for Pochettino to act like that.

Pochettino eventually walked away, but it was reported by Sky Sports presenter David Jones, that his anger continued down the tunnel.

Football fans now think a ban should come his way.

Pochettino reflected on the incident after the game.

"It’s weird, maybe the cables crossed in my brain," he said, per football.london.

"It’s the first time in ten years. I was always under control but what happened there, happened on the pitch. I need to find the reason now that we lost the game, not to find some excuse."

He then went on to admit he made a mistake and apologised for his actions.

"I made a mistake. I should have gone to the dressing room and get some water," he said, per BBC's Simon Stone.

"A stupid thing happened and you react. Maybe I go and apologise to the referee."

Spurs remain five points behind Liverpool, and the Reds could extend their lead over the north London club when they take on Manchester United on Sunday.
