Gary Neville is worried Paul Pogba’s agent could force a move away from Man United

Paul Pogba celebrates scoring for Manchester United against Chelsea

Paul Pogba seems to have finally found his feet at Manchester United.

The French World Cup winner has always possessed bags of potential, but was never able to exert himself on the Premier League in the way United fans would have been hoping when they splashed £95 million on the midfielder.

However, since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Pogba has looked a man possessed at the heart of United’s attacking spirit.

The 25-year-old has been on the rampage under the Norweigan, scoring nine goals and assisting six since Jose Mourinho was binned in December.

United fans have been in seventh heaven watching their newly reborn midfielder pulling the strings and dictating games with ease as they dream of returning to former glories.

However, United legend Gary Neville still harbours some concerns about Pogba’s long-term future at Old Trafford.

The Sky pundit outlined his worries ahead of the Red Devil’s clash with bitter rivals Liverpool, claiming that notorious super agent Mino Raiola could manufacture a move away from the club for his prized client.

“To be bang honest on Pogba, for two years, for £95m he gave United nowhere near enough in terms of performance levels and contribution.

“In the last two or three months he’s playing like the player that, to be fair, was bought for £95m. And he’s an outstanding player when he is playing like he is doing at the moment.

“If he plays for Manchester United for the next five years at the levels he’s playing now, there will be no one happier than us two [Neville and fellow pundit Nemanja Vidic] watching him out there because he’s absolutely outstanding.

“But in the back of my mind, the problems that we witnessed in the first two years will emanate again at some point. Because I think his agent will be into him, he’ll be wanting his little move away, he’ll be wanting his next pay-off and that’s my problem with it. His commitment to the club has got to be long-term.

The Old Trafford faithful will be desperate to keep hold of Pogba as he enters the prime years of his career but there can be no doubting he would sell for an astronomical price.

And Raiola, who enjoys the odd astronomical payout, could well be whispering in the ear of the Frenchman for the next few months.
