Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga's refusal to be substituted during Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Manchester City is likely to dominate headlines over the coming days.In extraordinary scenes, manager Maurizio Sarri had prepared for Willy Caballero to come on in the final few minutes of extra-time because he thought Kepa was injured.Caballero is a specialist at saving penalties, too, so it made sense for the Argentine goalkeeper to come on for the impending penalty shoot-out.But Kepa said no, angrily gesturing to the bench that he didn't want to come off. Sarri looked furious and eventually no substitution was made.In the end Chelsea lost on penalties and Kepa should have done a lot better with at least one of the spot-kicks he faced.Sarri has since downplayed the incident as a "misunderstanding", saying: "I was really angry, but I understood he had cramp."I didn't want the goalkeeper (Kepa) to go to penalties in that physical condition. I realised the situation only after three or four minutes when the doctor arrived on the bench."I wanted Caballero on the pitch, but the goalkeeper wanted to let me know he was in condition to go to penalties. It was only a big misunderstanding. Kepa was right, but in the wrong way."David Luiz was stood alongside Kepa as he refused to leave the pitch and claims he told his teammate to respect Sarri's decision. So where was captain Cesar Azpilicueta? The Spanish right-back was nowhere to be seen and after the game he said: "I was on the other side of the pitch. I cannot comment."As captain it was Azpilicueta's job to resolve the situation by either speaking to Sarri or telling Kepa to leave the pitch as told. But he did neither, and that sparked an angry reaction from Saif Rubie, who played a role in bringing Rudiger to Chelsea from Roma in 2017."I'm a fan of Azpi but as captain he should never have allowed what happened with the [goalkeeper] refusing to come off to happen," wrote Rubie in a since deleted tweet.

"For me he needs to have the captaincy taken off him, [goalkeeper] dropped for the foreseeable future and Rudiger to be made Chelsea captain as he's a real leader."

Rubie made his feelings very clear and it seems a lot of Chelsea fans agree that Azpilicueta showed why he isn't captain material.
