Johnny Nelson has cast significant doubt regarding a rematch between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury after saying that the American has failed to respond to any of Fury's text messages. The former cruiserweight world champion turned Sky Sports pundit says the lack of communication from Wilder is surprising, as he believed the fighter was someone who would want to atone for his poor performance in their first fight, where good judges felt he was very fortunate to come away with a draw.Speaking to iFLTV Nelson said: "Tyson told me before he fought Deontay Wilder, they would text each other."Fury would say things like 'you alright you big bum, when are we going to get it on.'

"But since the fight, Tyson has texted and asked him how he is doing and when they are going to get the rematch going and he hasn't got a reply yet.

"I don't think the fight will happen as it appears that Wilder is moving in the direction of AJ.

"I'm surprised by that as I always believed he would be someone who would want to right the wrongs (from the Fury fight.)

"This is the quietest I've heard him and he doesn't come across as that type of guy but at the moment that is what he is."

While Nelson felt this uncertainty was frustrating for Fury, he felt most for another fighter lost in the fighting merry-go-round in Dillian Whyte.

"I feel so much for Dillian Whyte as he done so much to get in the position he is."

Whyte and Joshua were close to agreeing to a fight in April before negotiations fell through with the former rejecting three separate offers.

Whyte claimed the first offer was 'utterly ridiculous' and way below what he made against Dereck Chisora.

Joshua strongly refuted that comment, however, saying that the offer was more than double what Whyte claimed.

Nelson applauded the stand that Whyte made as 'he knows his own value', but also
said Joshua did the right thing 'because at the end of the day it is a business.'

Whyte has been ordered to fight Dominic Breazeale for the WBC 'interim' heavyweight title while Joshua will take on unbeaten American Jarrell Miller (23 wins/1 draw) at Madison Square Garden in June.
