Rodgers has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons in Scotland with Celtic, winning back-to-back trebles.

Upon his appointment, Rodgers said: “I’m very privileged and honoured to be here as Leicester City manager and I’ll give my life to make the supporters proud of their club.”

Rodgers' first game as manager be an away trip to Watford, with Leicester in desperate need of an upturn in form.

The Foxes were beaten 4-1 at the King Power in their last game, with Puel leading the side to four consecutive defeats at home.

Neil Lennon has been named as Rodgers' interim successor at Celtic, with the Bhoys on the verge of their third-consecutive domestic treble.
