Joseph Parker is the favourite to fight Tyson Fury next

Tyson Fury is favourite to fight Joseph Parker next as any potential rematch with Deontay Wilder seems to be off the table.

Fury wants another fight before he takes on the American again following their thrilling draw in the original bout back in December of last year.

There had been an expectation of a rematch, which Wilder was keen on, but Fury has decided that he wants another fight before having a rematch at a later date.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman tweeted: “@BronzeBomber vs @Tyson_Fury is officially not happening next. The @WBCBoxing has received communications as our process and while WBC Champion Wilder confirmed its willingness to fight the rematch, Fury will take on another fight with expectations to do rematch at a later date.”

Online betting company Betway are making New Zealander Joseph Parker their favourite with odds of 2/5, according to Boxing News Online.

It is unclear where the fight would take place, although Parker is no stranger to coming to the UK to fight.

The one time WBO belt holder came to the UK in 2018 to fight Anthony Joshua at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, where he took AJ the distance only to lose on points - the only time the IBF, WBO, IBO and WBA belt holder hasn’t won a fight by knockout.

Joshua himself is out at 16/1 to be Fury’s next opponent.

Fellow Brit Dillian Whyte is next in line at 3/1 to set up an all-domestic bout. The Body Snatcher has not lost in seven fights since losing to Joshua back in 2015.

Wilder is also at 16/1 to be his next opponent if the Gypsy King decided to go with the rematch without another fight in between.

Betway’s Alan Alger had this to say: “Having beaten his cousin Hughie back in 2017, Parker is the 2/5 favourite to take on Tyson next, while an encounter with Dillian Whyte also looks likely too at 3/1.

"A rematch with Wilder can be backed at 16/1, with a monster domestic fight against Anthony Joshua available at the same price.”

Other options for Fury are: Bryant Jennings (10/1), Oleksandr Usyk (16/1), Alexander Povetkin (16/1), Manuel Charr (16/1), Kubrat Pulev (20/1), Dereck Chisora (33/1)
