Roman Reigns made an emotional return to WWE this past Monday on Raw, four months after he announced that the leukaemia he had first suffered with in 2007 had returned.

Many expected positive news and that's exactly what fans around the world were greeted to - as Reigns officially told everyone that he was in remission once again.

It completes a remarkably-quick turn around for the former world champion, and despite the fans not exactly liking his character before the devastating reveal in October, they enjoyed seeing him fit and healthy again.

Despite telling the fans that he's coming back, no-one expected him to get physical on the exact same night.

With Dean Ambrose being beaten down by the newly-formed alliance of Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley with Elias for back-up, Reigns and Seth Rollins came to assist the 'Lunatic Fringe'.

Reigns delivered numerous Superman Punches before dropping McIntyre with a Spear, giving him perhaps the best in-ring reaction he's had for years.

It seemed strange that they would both want to help Ambrose, because if you cast your minds back a few months you will remember that Ambrose turned on Rollins and insulted Reigns and his illness in their feud.

But with the recent signs of Ambrose's failed heel turn being consigned to the past, it looks as though the band is getting back together once again.

According to multiple sources, the plan for WWE's final pay-per-view before WrestleMania - Fastlane - is for The Shield to reform again and take on McIntyre, Lashley and Corbin in a storyline very reminiscent of when Braun Strowman aligned himself with McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler in 2018.

Speaking of Strowman, Post Wrestling have indicated, per Cageside Seats, that he could potentially be added to the match to make it an eight-man tag, with Elias thrown into the mix with the bad guys.

It will be really interesting to see how Reigns' first match back plays out and how his 'Road to WrestleMania' is figured out, especially as he's been advertised for every Raw until the end of May it seems as though he's back for good.
