Barcelona and Real Madrid met in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final on Wednesday night. 

The tie was finely balanced after a 1-1 draw at the Camp Nou three weeks ago but thanks to Luis Suarez, Barca's passage to the final was actually quite comfortable.

The striker netted twice and put enough pressure on Raphael Varane to make the Madrid defender turn the ball into his own net as the Blaugrana won 3-0 at the Bernabeu. 

Although it's Barca who have reached the cup final, Real have a chance for revenge on Saturday night when the two sides meet again in La Liga. 

Clasico's often give fans a chance to see some of Spain's top players share the same pitch and on top of that they also give the players a chance to scout their biggest rivals up close.  

And that's what happened on Wednesday when the league leaders visited Madrid.   

Los Blancos starlet Vinicius Junior started on the night and although his team were well beaten, the Brazilian still won a lot of plaudits for his own performance. 

High praise is nothing new for the 18-year-old, whose recently been compared to Lionel Messi, a man he came up against last night. 

Unsurprisingly, players were quizzed about similarities between the pair post-match. But according to Barca's Jordi Alba, it's far too early to be making comparisons between Vinicius and Messi.   

"In the end we're comparing him to the best in the world... bloody hell!" Alba told Cope, per AS. 

"Vinicius is a great player. I have never said anything about him... We have to be sensitive about it, we have to be honest.

As well as calling him a 'great player', Alba went on to further praise the Madrid forward, claiming what he's achieving at such a young age is impressive.

But, he also suggested that comparing Vinicius to Messi isn't helping the youngster or anyone else for that matter.  

"He is a fantastic player, one who is giving a lot to Madrid, despite his tender age," the defender continued.

"It is not easy at a huge club like Real Madrid that a kid, just 18 years old, to be creating the chances and be one of the stars in every game, that's not easy.

"But the comparison [with Messi] does not do him or anyone else any good." 

It's not too often we see a Barca player compliment a rival who plays for Madrid, but Alba clearly recognises talent when he sees it.

Still, he thinks the comparisons between Vinicius and Messi are very premature and that, is something most fans would agree with too.
