Toni Kroos went unpunished for nasty tackle on Leo Messi during Real Madrid 0-3 Barcelona

Real Madrid v FC Barcelona - Copa del Rey Semi Final: Second Leg

Real Madrid gave themselves a great chance of reaching the Copa del Rey final on February 6 by drawing 1-1 against Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

Holding their rivals to a draw away from home in the first leg meant Los Blancos had the advantage for the second in front of their own fans.

Things didn't quite go to plan on Wednesday night, though.

A brace from Luis Suarez and Raphael Varane's 69th-minute own goal saw Barcelona win 3-0 in Madrid to secure their place in the final on May 25.

Valencia will be their opponents at the Benito Villamarin Stadium after Los Ches won the other semi-final 3-2 on aggregate.

As for Real, they now face ending the 2018/19 season without any major trophies in Spain as Barcelona look set to do the double.

Winning the Champions League seems unlikely, too, as they're fourth favourites with bookmakers behind Manchester City, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Real players will understandably be frustrated with how they've performed this season and Toni Kroos took his anger out on Lionel Messi during Wednesday's second leg.

In the 43rd minute, Kroos produced a nasty tackle on Barcelona's star man that looked intentional but somehow went unpunished. Check it out below.

Very naughty from Kroos, who escaped any kind of card for his challenge on Messi despite going straight for the Argentine's ankle.

Barcelona ended up having the last laugh by winning so comfortably, but the club's fans have since been reviewing Kroos' tackle and wondering how on earth he got away with it.
