Kofi Kingston details his feelings after being removed from Fastlane WWE Championship match

If there was an official rankings system in the WWE that determined title shots on fan reactions alone, Kofi Kingston would probably top that list.

Fans have always loved Kingston ever since his main roster debut in 2008, and that popularity increased as the trio of The New Day began to rise.

There has been a bit of a clamouring for one of them to delve into singles action though to get the best out of the threesome, and Kofi was given the opportunity in early February.

In a SmackDown Live gauntlet match that would determine who would enter the Elimination Chamber match last for the WWE Championship, Kingston was a late replacement for the injured Mustafa Ali.

In what would have been Ali's exact role in the bout, Kingston lasted over an hour, defeating Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe and Daniel Bryan along the way, only to be stopped by AJ Styles.

He also outlasted everyone but Bryan in the Chamber match for the title, with the noise from the fans supporting Kofi absolutely deafening.

After he defeated Bryan again on SmackDown last Tuesday he was finally handed a one-on-one title opportunity at Fastlane, but Vince McMahon was to take that opportunity away from him.

Kevin Owens would replace Kingston, drawing much sympathy from the crowd but leaving the possibility open for a title opportunity down the line.

Kingston has now penned a message to his fans via Twitter and it's pretty emotional.

There's been several hints that Kofi will instead get a huge WrestleMania opportunity, perhaps in a one-on-one with whoever walks out of Fastlane as WWE Champion or in a Triple Threat bout.

The reliable WrestleVotes have told Kingston fans to 'not panic' which does indeed drive speculation to believe that something is going to happen unless Vince McMahon changes his plans.

And the non-existent roof will no doubt be blown off the Metlife Stadium should Kingston walk out of WrestleMania as WWE Champion.
