Twenty nine-year old Junior Fa will return to the USA this saturday (March 2), to face Newfel Ouatah and continue his pursuit of a heavyweight title challenge.Fa has slowly climbed his way through the heavyweight pool since turning professional in 2016, and boasts a 16-0-0 record, including nine KOs.The fighter is also known for his fierce amateur rivalry with Joseph Parker - the pair fought on four occasions before turning pro - achieving two victories each.Fa, a New Zealand international, is fast becoming a household name in the United States, having come out on top in a 10-round bout with Craig Lewis in March 2018 in South Dakota. Now, ranked as the ninth best active heavyweight by WBO, Fa has already worked alongside some of the division's biggest names - having sparred with Deontay Wilder in the lead up to his clash with Tyson Fury.As he looks to build towards an eventual world title challenge, Fa faces Ouatah, an ex-Olympian and seasoned boxer, who has faced previous world title challengers, including Johann Duhaupas back in 2017.The clash will hold main event status at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, and the festival is run in partnership with Arnold Schwarzenegger.Haven't heard or seen much of Fa? If he were to prevail in this clash, then Fa would fancy his chances of facing one of Fury, Anthony Joshua or Wilder, which he confirmed when speaking to World Boxing News.

"I follow the rest of the heavyweight division carefully and it seems as if there’s three big names; Wilder, Joshua and Fury, and then the rest.

"I’m not sure how much they will be fighting each other, but I like the idea of facing any of the three at the appropriate time.

“Before he fought Tyson Fury, I spent three weeks sparring with Deontay Wilder in Birmingham and it was a tremendous learning experience for me. In our sessions, I gained quite a bit of confidence working with him over that period. Also, being in camp with him helped me see how a heavyweight champion works, prepares and sacrifices to ensure he keeps his title.”

With Joshua's failure to agree a deal to fight either Fury or Wilder, Fa may be outlining a bout with the Brit as a future possibility, knowing that a strong performance against Ouatah this weekend is crucial.
