Manchester City are still on course to complete a ridiculous quadruple this season.Pep Guardiola’s side have already retained the Carabao Cup and are favourites to win consecutive league titles, despite trailing Liverpool by one point. They’re also in the FA Cup quarter-finals - where they face Swansea and have one foot in the last-eight of the Champions League after beating Schalke 3-2 away from home in their last-16 first-leg.The best side in Europe right now? Quite possibly. Therefore, City’s rivals would have been shuddering after Guardiola’s comments on Friday.

The Spanish manager hinted that the club are looking to sign “three or four” players this summer.

“There are three or four positions I think we have to try to look for and some ideas we have,” Guardiola told reporters.

“I don’t know in the end what is going to happen but it is an option, yeah, to buy a left-back.

“You know holding midfielder we are going to try and other positions we are thinking about.

“I’m not going to tell you which positions, I don’t want to tell you the players. You have your sources.”

Journalists certainly do have their sources and the Manchester football correspondent for the Standard, James Robson, thinks he knows which four players City are keen to sign.

On Friday evening, he tweeted: “Guardiola has drastically altered City’s summer transfer plans. Now wants up to four new signings. Ndombele, Chilwell, De Ligt and Jovic all on radar #mcfc”

HOW WOULD MAN CITY LINE UP?

But how would they fit into City’s squad?

Well, we’ve decided to take a look at how they could line-up next season if City sign all four of those players:

Yeah, that’s not bad.

Then, just have a look at the players that aren’t even in that startling XI:

Claudio Bravo
Nicolas Otamendi
Benjamin Mendy
Aymeric Laporte
Vincent Kompany
Oleksandr Zinchenko
Danilo
Fernandinho
Ilkay Gundogan
Phil Foden
David Silva
Riyad Mahrez
Gabriel Jesus
Luka Jovic

That squad depth is just outrageous.

If City do sign all four of those players and keep hold of their other stars, the other Premier League clubs may as well just give up…
