There was no shortage of talking points from the north London derby on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal took the lead through Aaron Ramsey and looked as if they would cut the gap between both teams in the Premier League to just one point.

But the game burst into life in the second half.

Tottenham were given a controversial penalty with 16 minutes remaining, which was converted by Harry Kane.

With just a few minutes remaining Arsenal were given a dubious penalty of their own, but Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang failed to convert from 12 yards.

And there was still time for a red card, with Lucas Torreira receiving his marching orders for a high tackle on Danny Rose.

The Uruguayan midfielder was not happy with the referee and he was captured waiting in the tunnel at the end of the game.

It is believed he was waiting for Antony Taylor so he could protest his decision.

Torreira was at risk of staring at a longer ban if he did try and confront Taylor.

But it appears it was none other than Mauricio Pochettino that calmed him down and prevented him having a go at Taylor.

The Evening Standard have reported the Spurs boss warned him against making the situation worse during an exchange in Spanish.

Pochettino sympathised with Torreira by telling him he could see his challenge on Rose was a genuine attempt to play the ball.

He then advised him against taking out his anger on Taylor and his assistants.

Great stuff from Pochettino.

The two clubs are still rivals but the Argentinian manager showed his class by still wanting to help Torreira out.

BT Sport actually captured them talking to each other, but Pochettino played the exchange down when asked about it, claiming he only said 'hello' and 'how are you'.

It appears the exchange was a lot more significant than that.
