With nine games left to play, Manchester City are now a point clear at the top of the Premier League table courtesy of the weekend's action.

Pep Guardiola's men trailed Liverpool by seven points ahead of their clash back in January, but they have gradually clawed back that ground since defeating the Reds.

Most recently, City's 1-0 win at Bournemouth was followed by a stalemate in the Merseyside derby.

And while Jurgen Klopp's side have only lost once in the league all season - that 2-1 slip-up at the Etihad - it's quite possible that it won't be enough to land them a first title in 29 years.

Liverpool have drawn four of their last six, dropping points against Leicester, West Ham, Manchester United, and now Everton.

At the very least, it's made for a scintillating title race for the neutral. We were robbed of that last year, when City stormed to the title and surpassed 100 points in the process.

This time around, it's much more difficult to predict where the trophy will be heading in May.

However, reddit user and Liverpool fan TopofThe18 has attempted to do just that by creating a spreadsheet to estimate each team's points tally.

How many more points will each side pick up?

Of course, this is far from an exact science and it relies on Tottenham taking points off both sides, while Manchester United are also tipped to draw with City.

Promisingly, though - if you're a Liverpool fan, that is - it has the Reds coming out on top by a single point.

Take a look below:

Liverpool would do very well indeed not to lose another game, even if on paper their fixtures look kinder.

The Champions League is also likely to have a significant impact as European football could present a distraction if both sides progress in the competition.

Though the red half of Merseyside were naturally disappointed with Sunday's result, Klopp himself has urged for caution as the hysteria mounts in the final months of the campaign.

"Who wants to be top of the table at the beginning of March?" the German is quoted by the BBC.

"It is nice but there are lots of games to play. I'm completely fine with chasing.

"I watched Match of the Day last night and saw the celebrations of Manchester City - they had 900 chances and scored one goal, a shot with the wrong foot.

"You have to be ready for these chances."
