Ajax were sensational in their 4-1 win against Real Madrid on Tuesday evening. Many had already counted the Eredivisie side out after they were beaten 2-1 in the first leg - including Sergio Ramos, who deliberately picked up a yellow card late on.But they arrived at the Bernabeu without fear and secured a stunning 5-3 aggregate win to progress to the quarter-final of the Champions League.Hakim Ziyech, David Neres, Dusan Tadic and Lasse Schone scored the goals to cap a memorable night for the visitors. This Real Madrid side is the weakest it has been in years, but take nothing away from Ajax. They were class.

Tadic provided two assists to go with his goal and midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who will join Barcelona in the summer, was mightily impressive.

The party will have carried on long into the night for the travelling Ajax supporters.

Ajax fans enjoyed themselves

The 4,000 supporters that travelled had a thoroughly enjoyable experience, as evidenced by a clip shared by journalist Andy Mitten on Twitter.

The video shows Ajax supporters singing the Monty Python song ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’ during the match.

Quality stuff.

They also aimed a chant at Ramos, who watched the game from his box at the Bernabeu.

‘Ramos bedankt!’, the Ajax fans chanted, which translates to ‘Thanks Ramos!’

The thousands that travelled were in fine form the moment they arrived in Madrid.

The defeat completes a wretched week for Santiago Solari in which he has seen Real exit the Champions League and Copa del Rey and their La Liga title hopes effectively vanish.

"The season is difficult, but we are here to show our heart and character in difficult moments,” he said after the latest defeat, per Goal.

“Easy moments are easy for everyone, you can climb up and surf them, but difficult moments you have to show bravery."

Real’s reign as European champions, which has lasted 1,011 days thanks to their successes in 2016, 2017 and 2018, will officially come to an end.
