Dusan Tadic delivered an absolute masterclass during Ajax's 4-1 win at Real Madrid.Although fans had always acknowledged his quality at Southampton, nobody could have expected him to blow the European champions away just months after leaving the St. Mary's Stadium. It has been a torrid season for Los Blancos who - with two consecutive defeats to Barcelona - have been eliminated from the Copa del Rey and La Liga title race already this week. However, the thrashing against Ajax plunged them to a new low and ended a run of over 1,000 days at the pinnacle of Champions League football.Goals from Hakim Ziyech and David Neres fired the Dutch side into a shock lead after just 18 minutes, before Tadic wrote his own name on the score-sheet after the break.

Real Madrid 1-4 Ajax

There was a brief reply from Marco Asensio in the 70th minute, but that was quickly cancelled out Lasse Schone's outrageous free-kick over Thibaut Courtois.

Despite Real facilitating their own downfall, there was a number of superb performances from Ajax including Matthijs de Ligt and the Barcelona-bound Frenkie De Jong.

However, it was Tadic that received the most positive reviews and he was stunningly awarded a rating of 10/10 in the French newspaper L'Equipe

Tadic receives 10/10 rating

That might not sound overly spectacular, but it's incredibly impressive when you consider he's only the ninth player in history to have played the 'perfect game.'

It's all the more remarkable when the first 10/10 was awarded to Franck Sauzee back in 1988, after scoring two stunners in the Euro Under-21 final.

That means - on average - a perfect rating is handed out once every three-and-a-half years.

The list of players to receive the special honour goes as follows:

1. Franck Sauzee (1988)

2. Bruno Martini (1988)

3. Oleg Salenko (1994)

4. Lars Windfeld (1997)

5. Lionel Messi (2010, 2012)

6.. Robert Lewandowski (2013)

7. Carlos Eduardo (2014)

8. Neymar (2018)

9. Dusan Tadic (2019)

Although some of the names might seem obscure, Tadic has now joined Lewandowski's four-goal haul against Real Madrid and Salenko's record-breaking five goals in one World Cup match.

Messi remains the only player in history to have played the 'perfect game' on two occasions, having scored four goals against Arsenal and then hitting Bayer Leverkusen for five.

As for Eduardo, that was also a game where a player almost hit a double-hat-trick, showing just how impressive Tadic's performance was with just a single goal to his name.

That being said, both Martini and Windfeld were given a 10/10 for their displays as goalkeepers.
