Manchester United sealed their most famous victory since Sir Alex Ferguson’s 2013 departure against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night. The Red Devils were without a number of first-team regulars - including Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial - and had a mountain to climb following their 2-0 defeat in last month’s first leg at Old Trafford. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men recorded a hugely-impressive 3-1 victory in the French capital, with Marcus Rashford’s controversial late penalty sending the visitors through to the Champions League quarter-finals.United were on the verge of being knocked out of the competition until referee Damir Skomina pointed to the spot following a VAR review.Diogo Dalot’s speculative shot struck Presnel Kimpembe on the arm and, following a lengthy review, Skomina decided it was worthy of a penalty.

Rashford then stepped up to smash the ball past Gianluigi Buffon, whose mistake earlier in the match had allowed Romelu Lukaku to score the second goal of his first-half brace.
There were jubilant scenes from the United players and coaching staff when Skomina blew the full-time whistle.
This was a remarkable victory that very few people had seen coming.
However, Lukaku showed real class shortly after the final-time whistle by going up to a distraught Kimpembe and consoling him.

Lukaku saw that none of Kimpembe’s teammates were around the 23-year-old defender, so United’s in-form number nine decided to give some words of support instead.
Lovely stuff from the Belgian. A classy gesture.
Lukaku has form for this time of stuff, though. This isn’t a one-off.
Back in October 2017, Lukaku consoled 18-year-old goalkeeper Mile Svilar after his mistake cost Benfica.
Lukaku obviously cares about his fellow professionals and it’s great to see him consoling his opponents.
Wouldn’t football be a much nicer sport if more players were like Romelu?
