Manchester United made Champions League history last night.

For the first time in the competition's history, a team has managed to progress to the next knockout round after losing the first leg at home by two goals.

United were simply outclassed by the Ligue 1 champions at Old Trafford, but their dogged, determined performance in Paris was the stuff of legend.

Romelu Lukaku scored either side of Juan Bernat's goal, with Marcus Rashford then scoring an injury-time penalty after a controversial VAR call on Presnel Kimpembe.

The renaissance of Lukaku in the last few weeks is yet more evidence of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's impact at the club.

United's Belgian striker has now scored braces in his last three games, the first Red Devils player to do that since Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2006.

Lukaku was brilliant in the 3-2 win versus Southampton on the weekend, but a story from The Sun stated that he had a big falling out with Paul Pogba over the late penalty - which the Frenchman missed.

The Belgian tweeted in the aftermath that the story was not accurate and Lukaku and Pogba decided to mock the article on the pitch straight after beating PSG.

Well, that's that then.

While the pair may have had a small disagreement over the penalty, it's simply the nature of most footballers to express their opinion over such a matter in the aftermath of a game.

After all, they're two elite-level footballers who pride themselves on scoring goals.

United now face a tough trip to Arsenal on the weekend with the likelihood being that they will be without a number of first-team names once again.

Ten of their squad were missing for the trip to France, but Pogba will be available after serving a one-match suspension for the PSG game.
