Real Madrid's dominance over the Champions League ended in humiliation on Tuesday night.

After winning the last three editions of the tournament, Los Blancos were humiliated 4-1 in their own backyard by Ajax.

The Dutch side were heavy underdogs after losing 2-1 in Amsterdam, but rallied to stun the European specialists in style.

Hakim Ziyech's early goal set the tone, with David Neres, Dusan Tadic and Lasse Schone completing the job.

Marco Asensio's goal late in the second-half was merely a consolation and was the only showing of quality from Real throughout the 90 minutes.

So where do Los Blancos go from here? Santiago Solari's side are 12 points behind Barcelona in La Liga and were eliminated from the Copa del Rey by their bitter rivals in the Bernabeu.

And to make matters worse, it seems as if club captain Sergio Ramos and president Florentino Perez had a huge row after the Ajax defeat.

Ramos missed the game after intentionally picking up a yellow card in the first-leg and he will now be suspended for the first game of next season's Champions League - if Real make qualify.

As reported by Spanish publication AS, Perez gave the Real squad a bit of a dressing down after the match, to which Ramos replied: ""Pay me up and I'll go."

Ramos is said to have continued by saying: "I've given everything and busted a gut for this badge, for this club and even for you."

The entire Real squad witnessed the row, with Perez labelling them all "disgraceful" shortly before his clash with the captain.

It's yet another sign of the declining state of the club both on and off the pitch right now.

Real stand virtually zero chance of winning silverware and their ageing squad is no longer the envy of world football - far from it.

The summer could be one of the biggest in the club's illustrious history.
