Paris Saint-Germain have spent an eye-watering €1.17 billion on players since being taken over by the Qatari Investment Authority in 2011.In that time they've dominated French football, winning Ligue 1 five times, the Coupe de France five times and the Coupe de la Ligue five times. But for all that money, which has bought the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani, the Parisians haven't progressed past the quarter-finals in the Champions League since 1995.Wednesday night's 3-1 defeat at home to Manchester United saw PSG exit the competition at the last 16 stage for the third time in as many years.Thomas Tuchel's side won the first leg 2-0 at Old Trafford in February but were once again unable to get the job done across two games. They were desperately poor at the Parc des Princes and in the end a controversial penalty from Marcus Rashford in stoppage time knocked them out.Diogo Dalot's shot from outside the 18-yard box - which was going well over the bar - struck Presnel Kimpembe's arm. The referee checked VAR and awarded a penalty to United.Rashford made no mistake from the spot to spark wild celebrations among United players and fans, while PSG's defeated stars looked distraught. And when the final whistle went, Kylian Mbappe summed up the general feeling by collapsing to the floor with his head in his hands.Mbappe squandered a number of chances to score against United, such as a one-on-one with David de Gea where he slipped at the crucial moment.By no means did the Frenchman have a bad game - his pace and skill was a constant threat to United's defence - but when it mattered most, he failed to deliver.A video has now been created by one United fan of Mbappe's highlights in the second leg and it's so cruel yet absolutely hilarious. It showcases each and every one of his mistakes with the flute version of 80s hit 'Take On Me' by a-ha in the background. Check it out.

Poor lad - you suspect it's going to take Mbappe and his PSG teammates a long time to recover from the United defeat.

There's always next year.
