Ward-Prowse replicated his set-piece heroics from Old Trafford

Tottenham have suffered their third Premier League defeat in just four games.Spurs have watched their assault on the title crumble in recent weeks, succumbing to loss against Burnley, Chelsea and now Southampton.The trip to the St. Mary's Stadium was all going to plan and Harry Kane fired the visitors into the lead, only for Yan Valery to equalise with his second goal for the Saints.However, the crushing blow came via a moment of brilliance from James Ward-Prowse, who once again proved that he's one of the best free-kick takers in the league.Just a week after scoring directly from a set piece against Manchester United, he replicated his heroics against Spurs and beat Hugo Lloris in dramatic fashion.

It now leaves Tottenham contemplating their chances in the top four and United, Arsenal and Chelsea are hot on their heels.

In the space of just four games, Tottenham have gone from the title race to an all-out scrap for their future in the Champions League.

What next for Tottenham?

Spurs will have to keep their fingers crossed that upcoming games fall in their favour, specifically regarding Chelsea and United who have games in hand.

The latter's clash with Arsenal will be of particular interest to Mauricio Pochettino's men, while Chelsea can clamber back to third spot with two consecutive wins.

Pochettino reflected in his post-match press conference: "I am a little bit worried, this change too much from the first half to the second half is only one reason, it’s mental. It’s about complacency.

"It’s about arrogance in a bad way. You use the first half like an example, arrogance, playing with intention, focus, concentration, we matched them in everything and we were much better.
