Sergio Ramos might be one of those players that most football fans love to hate, but Real Madrid supporters wouldn’t swap him for anyone.

For Los Blancos, the Spanish defender is worth his weight in gold. Cut him and he bleeds white (well, probably).

Ramos has now been with Real Madrid for almost 14 years, following his €27 million move from Sevilla way back in the summer of 2005.

However, speculation is rife that Ramos’s time at the Bernabeu might not be far away from ending.

It was widely reported that he had a row with Florentino Perez in the aftermath of last week’s 4-1 defeat to Ajax - telling the Madrid president ‘pay me up and I’ll go’ - while reports over the weekend claimed he had a bust-up with teammate Marcelo in training.

It’s also been revealed, per the Daily Mail, that Ramos has threatened to quit Madrid if Jose Mourinho is appointed as Santiago Solari’s replacement.

Solari’s days are numbered at the Bernabeu following a string of poor performances and underwhelming results.

Sunday night’s 4-1 win away at Real Valladolid may have brought him a little more time, but there’s no guarantee that’s the case. In fact, there’s every chance he could be gone within the next 48 hours.

But Ramos, who didn’t always see eye-to-eye with Mourinho when the Portuguese tactician coached Madrid between 2010-2013, will push for a summer move away from his current employers if ‘The Special One’ returns.

Ramos will have one year remaining on his contract in the summer and has been linked with a move to Juventus.

The 32-year-old isn’t the only Madrid player against the potential appointment of Mourinho.

The Mail’s report adds that Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Marcelo don’t want to see the former Manchester United boss at the Bernabeu, either.

Perez, however, has told the players that will have ‘no voice in the appointment’.

He will meet with club directors on Monday with the intention of making a final decision over putting Mourinho in charge of the team with immediate effect.

Some Real Madrid fans want to see Mourinho return after such a disappointing season - but will they still want him if it means potentially losing their talismanic captain?
