Manchester United are determined to replace Antonio Valencia with Crystal Palace starlet Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Ecuadorian will leave the club at the end of the season after 10 years of service, leaving Diogo Dalot as the only natural right-back left at the club.

Ashley Young has deputised in the role of late, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want fresh blood in the department for next season.

Wan-Bissaka has arguably been the breakthrough star in the Premier League this season.

A winger converted into a right-back, the 21-year-old has become one of the best one-versus-one defenders in Europe.

The Premier League's toughest wingers have struggled to get past the Englishman and the country's elite are desperate to land his signature.

And a report from The Sun states that United have 'stepped up their interest' and have sent scouts to watch Wan-Bissaka on a number of occasions already in 2018/19.

A club source said: “Scouts were at Burnley a few weekends back along with Brighton. That is around a dozen times since December.

“They really do like what they see and all the reports back are excellent. He is definitely someone close on the radar.

“Valencia is leaving and Ashley Young is getting on in years. Diogo Dalot is excellent but you can't rely on him too heavily.”

Wan-Bissaka will cost United at least £40m if he is to arrive at Old Trafford, but it's an investment that could be worth every penny.

The Red Devils have also expressed their interest in Jadon Sancho, who Borussia Dortmund currently value at over £100m.

But reports have stated that United would be willing to match that figure, meaning they could have one of the finest all-English right wings come next season.

With Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Luke Shaw also thriving in the United side, the Red Devils could become the go-to club for Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate.
