Mane took the ball down first time, alluded the on-rushing Manuel Neuer, before clipping the ball into the back of the net.

Watch the goal below:

Exquisite stuff from Mane.

But it wouldn't have been possible without the ball from Van Dijk.

However, one man that did not really rate his assist was Michael Owen.

The former Liverpool striker was in the BT Sport studios at half-time and branded Van Dijk's ball as 'simple'.

He then said that everything good about the goal was from Mane.

"Absolutely everything to do with this goal is about Mane," he said. "I know Van Dijk played a nice ball, but it was a pretty simple ball. But everything that was good about this goal was Mane.

"He pulls really wide to give himself as much space as possible to run into."

Simple ball? Van Dijk has spotted Mane's run and played a 50 yard pass, over the top, which landed perfectly at Mane's feet.

He couldn't have placed it any better.

And Owen's words look even more worse when you see his assist from behind.

Although it didn't look apparent from the first angle, it turns out Van Dijk's pass was with the outside of the boot and curved perfectly into Mane's path.

Not many defenders would be able to pull off a ball like that.

Van Dijk said after the game that he doesn't care what team Liverpool draw in the quarter-finals but that a tie against Ajax would be 'nice'.

"I really don’t care at all but we will probably draw an English club again," he told Veronica TV, per the Metro.

"Ajax? That would be a nice game. But it would be difficult because Ajax is doing fantastic in the Champions League."
